FAQs

How do I apply to be a vendor?

Click the "‘Apply to be a vendor’ link at the top of corner or our website or scroll to the bottom of our homepage to apply! Our vendor applications open a month prior to each event and will be available online. Keep up to date on our Instagram @thesocomarket ! Due to the amount of applications we receive, we try our best to rotate a few vendors to give new businesses an opportunity to participate. Submitting an application does not guarantee a vendor spot.

Do I need a permit to participate in the SoCo Market?

All vendors are responsible for obtaining the required permits and licenses in order to sell in the state of California. Feel free to check out our resource page for additional information!

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are welcome at our outdoor SoCo Market events in downtown Santa Rosa, unless specified otherwise for certain events hosted outside of downtown.

Is the event free to attend?

Our SoCo Market events in downtown are free to attend! Some exclusive events may have a small admission fee. Please check our events calendar for details.

I applied, but I haven’t received a response.

We review applications about a month prior to each event. You will receive a notification on the status of your application once it has been reviewed. If you did not receive a response, then your email may have been entered incorrectly on your application. Please feel free to reach out at anytime.

I applied, but my application was denied. Why is that?

Due to the high number of applications we receive for each event and the limited venue space, it is challenging to accommodate everyone. We accept applications from both new and returning businesses. To avoid saturation, we limit the number of spots available for each business category (jewelry, clothing, plants, etc.). If you have applied three or more times, please send us an email!

Please note we do not accept applications from MLM companies or political parties.

How do you select vendors for the event?

When the market was first established, we focused on millennial-owned businesses. Although we have since expanded our scope, preference will still be given to millennial-owned businesses, considering the audience our events attract. A few things we keep in mind when reviewing applications:

  • Passion over hobby. We look for individuals who are starting businesses out of passion with hopes of turning it in to something more.

  • Participation in recent SoCo Market events

  • First time applicants to SoCo Market
